SATA cables

The SATA cable is also known as S-ATA, Serial ATA or simply just SATA. The letters stand for Serial Advanced Technology Attachment and is a so-called serial data bus created, among other things, to move data to and from hard disks in computers. SATA cables are part of the computer's internal cabling and replaced the older ATA standard around 2005. SATA cables use a narrow 7-pin connection. Both HDD and SSD can use SATA as an interface. The speed of the HDD depends, among other things, on which SATA version it has (I/II/III) and the same applies to the SSD (which uses SATA II/III).
