TRS- and DRS-type compression connectors represent a new thinking in compression technology. Several innovative novelties have been introduced, some of which have been patented. One change is the unique outer O-ring solution, which provides full metallic contact between nut and connector contact.
A known fact is that even F-connectors that have been tightened with a torque wrench have a tendency to loosen due to e.g. vibrations. In these new connectors, this is prevented by a unique locking ring (the L version). Among the PCT patented solutions is a solution with double 360 degree compression rings that provide optimal tensile load and shielding properties and protect against moisture penetration. This guarantees that the connector gets the right torque and also the right impedance.
For the installer, these connectors are faster and easier to work with. Especially with the new ergonomically designed compression tool. All connectors are color and type marked with a color for each cable type. The DRS series is for normal installations while the TRS connectors are used for really demanding purposes where the highest possible performance is a must. The TRS connectors are in a slightly shorter housing and can therefore be used advantageously in tight spaces.
