The Exception is a Danish film from 2020, directed by Jesper W. Nielsen.

Iben (Danica Curcic), Malene (Amanda Collin), Anne-Lise (Sidse Babett Knudsen) and Camilla (Lene Maria Christensen) are four women who work together in an everyday life characterized by power struggles, whispers and alliances. When Iben and Malene both receive death threats, they initially suspect a Serbian war criminal, about whom they write articles. But as a case of bullying in the office escalates, they slowly begin to consider whether the evil could come from themselves.

"The Exception" is a nerve-wracking thriller that depicts how refined adult bullying can develop into a gruesome game about life and death. It is a tale of manipulation as a weapon, of wild paranoia and the many faces of evil.
