Besides a promising football talent, brothers Rudi and Cursi couldn't be more different. On the banana plantation, gossip romantic Cursi (Gael García Bernal) sings day and night, dreaming of breaking through as a pop singer, while Rudo (Diego Luna) just wants to play football. Both want a big career and enough money to be able to buy their mother's dream home. When a talent scout comes to town and sees the brothers' abilities on a football field, first Cursi and then Rudo get the opportunity to realize their dreams and get to play football in the top league. But success and fame are not all pies, and only now are the brothers' problems escalating in earnest.
