The optical smoke detector reacts quickly to smoke generated by a smouldering fire. Always install the smoke alarm on the ceiling: Avoid proximity to interfering electrical equipment such as dimmable lights and air conditioning vents (recommended distance approx. 0.5m). Test the smoke alarm regularly, once a month by pressing the test button until you hear an alarm sound.
