Paco Rabanne, born on February 18, 1934 in Pasaia, Spain, and died on February 3, 2023 in Portsall, France, was an iconic Spanish fashion designer of Basque origin. Rabanne quickly made a name for himself as a pioneering and controversial figure in French fashion during the 1960s, often referred to as the 'enfant terrible' of the fashion world. His unique style challenged convention, experimenting with unconventional materials such as metal, plastic and paper in his avant-garde creations.

Rabanne began his career as a jewelry designer for prestigious fashion houses such as Givenchy, Dior and Balenciaga. Even then, his early work showed a bold creativity and a willingness to push the boundaries of what was considered possible in fashion. In 1966, he took the step of opening his own fashion house, where he quickly established himself as a pioneer of futuristic and experimental design. His first collection, '12 indestructible dresses in contemporary materials', proved his determination to break new ground.

Two years later, in 1968, Rabanne began a long-term collaboration with the Spanish perfume company Puig. This collaboration resulted in the launch of a series of successful fragrances under the Paco Rabanne name. Among these, 'Paco Rabanne pour Homme' and '1 Million' in particular are some of the most iconic. The collaboration with Puig helped Rabanne become not only a pioneer in fashion but also a significant force in the perfume industry, where his name became associated with both innovation and luxury.
