Primal Elements began in 1993 in a Southern California kitchen, where the scent of citrus and mint filled the air. What started with handmade vegetable glycerin soaps has grown into a company with over 60 employees and a 2300 square meter facility. Despite the growth, the manufacturing process is still artisanal.
Faith and Scott Freeman founded Primal Elements out of necessity while running a bath and aromatherapy shop in Belmont Shore. Finding it difficult to find unique soaps, they started creating their own. They introduced the Soap-by-the-Inch concept, giving customers the ability to choose custom pieces for a personalized experience.
In 1999, Primal Elements expanded its line to home and personal fragrances and created Color Bowl candles using the patented Paragel technology, a blend of wax and translucent gel that creates a stained glass look and longer burn time.
Since its inception, Primal Elements has become an international name in the bath, body and fragrance market. In June 2000, Faith and Scott Freeman were awarded the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Primal Elements is dedicated to high quality bath and skin care products inspired by aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and botanical ingredients. The company is committed to sustainability; the products contain no animal ingredients, are not tested on animals and are packaged in recyclable material. Customers are encouraged to provide feedback to constantly improve the range.
