After his creator was arrested for illegal experiments, test subject 626 manages to escape to a small Hawaiian island on Earth. There he meets the little blue alien Lilo, who warmly welcomes him into her family. Disguised as a dog named Stitch, he finds shelter there and together with Lilo is eventually able to convince the President of the Council of his home planet to allow him to stay on Earth.
