Aqara Hub M3 is easy and flexible to install. You can mount the M3 Hub on a table, on a wall or, if you prefer, on the ceiling using the supplied bracket. The Hub is powered via USB-C cable or a power cable (PoE support), and can also be powered by a portable power station, for example. The hub can be connected to the network wirelessly (WiFi 2.4/5 GHz) or wired (RJ45 ethernet).
Compared to previous Aqaracontrollers, the M3 relies heavily on local control, so many functions work even if the internet connection is down for some reason. M3 also focuses on privacy and encrypted storage. M3 is also an excellent choice when you already have compatible home automation controllers from Aqara. M3 can act as a 'master' controller on the network, enhancing the local capabilities of other controllers. Another option is to transfer all devices and settings from other controllers to the M3.
Note: The product package does not include a power supply. You can use a standard 5V 2A USB power supply. The M3 also includes Power Over Ethernet (PoE) support. Does not work as an Apple HomeKit home hub. If more than 32 Zigbee devices are added to the hub, Zigbee MESH devices, such as sockets, must be installed to extend the range of the Zigbee network. The Migrate feature from previous Aqarahome automation controllers is supported by Aqara M2 Hub, Aara M1S Hub, Aqara E1 Hub.
