Guitar humidification can be a bit of a mystery because it's very hard to tell where the humidity in the case goes at any given time. Boveda humidifier's osmotic membrane-based action absorbs moisture when the air in the case is too dry, and releases it when the air gets dry. So you can forget about humidifying your instrument, as long as you remember to replace the moisture bags when they dry out. In Finland's cold winters, the air dries out badly and the bags may need to be replaced more often.
Please note that the first few bags may dry out quite quickly if your case is made of wood. A wooden guitar case probably contains more wood than a guitar, in which case the humidifier will also try to get the case humidity right. Bags typically last 2-6 months depending on the humidity of the air and the case.
