The Hub E1 is powered via a USB connector, which means it can be connected directly to a 5V USB power supply or even a battery bank if required. Connecting to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi wireless network, the E1 also includes ZigBee 3.0 support. If network-enhancing MESH devices are used, up to 128* additional devices can be connected/pairing to the controller.
Aqara By default, the Hub is operated with the manufacturer's own app (Aqara Home) and the app is available for download for Android and iOS devices. Aqara The Hub E1 also includes full Apple HomeKit support. So you can connect compatible Aqara Zigbee accessories to the Hub and the Hub will make your devices HomeKit compatible. You can access it directly through Apple's own Home app and you can also make rules and automations with other devices connected to HomeKit. "Hey Siri, what's the temperature in the nursery?"
E1 also supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant as virtual voice assistants.
Note, Works with the Aqara app (no support for the Mi Home app). No power supply is included in the product package. You can use a standard 5V 0.5A USB power supply. Does not work as an Apple HomeKit home hub.
*If more than 32 Zigbee devices are added to the hub, Zigbee MESH devices, such as sockets, must be used to extend the range of the Zigbee network.
